Why do some radio buttons show in IE but not in Firefox?

On some web sites a radio button or checkbox is available but Firefox does not show any outline or content for it. It can only be found by mousing over the screen and hoping that a text message such as "Click here to submit" shows up. In IE these buttons do show up in the normal way so it seems this is s problem with Firefox and not the particular web site.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Can you post a link to web pages where you have that problem?

I solved this problem by downloading a fresh copy of Firefox 3.6.10, re-installing it and then restoring the default profile previously backed up using MozBackup. Many thanks to those who tried to help me.
