My family bought me a new Mac laptop. I down loaded Firefox and was told that there was a privet setting. Reading the info. on the setting-it tells me that my employer can still track my info and history. Why? It's not a work related computer. It is my own personal and is not on their line or used for work. So that tells me that if I throw out my computer or it is stolen then people can still pull up my past web, or google searches or sights. How do I keep them out? do a complete 7 scan erase each time? A lot of younger kids are able to dig deep into most computers. I want it to be like a Library. Open the door walk in read, listen to music, videos, when I am done walk out shut the door and no one needs to know what I did in the library. PRIVET is not very PRIVET on computers.

I am not a Mac user but there must be a way to create a user profile and give it a password. You could use Private Browsing mode. Shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+P. in this Mode Firefox will not remember anything. About the employer thing, what was meant by that was we all have an ISP, you can not hide from your ISP they can always track where a computer goes online. But with that said your ISP has privacy laws it must follow as well. ISP=Internet Service Provider
