When I do a search for a word and a bunch of emails pop up, I can see the first few sentences of the email. However the msg won't open.
I have had a host of problems setting up Thunderbird over the years. Some servers are gone now and I lost most of the emails. However, if I do a search for certain emails sometimes they populate the search list and I can actually read the first few lines of the email in the 2nd pane. However if I click the email it tries to contact the server and does not show the contents. How do I recover all these emails? I assume there must be a way if I can see the first sentence.
Secondly, I thought the point of thunderbird was to keep emails on the local computer so they can't get erased? How do you keep emails locally so that they can't be erased by server problems?
Thank you.
