It does not seem to work for me either, although it is not really a feature I have much interest in, although I know others who do normally use this, if I find any further info later this week I will post again, meanwhile my comments:

The Hotmail slideshows used to require a silverlight plug-in I believe, I have checked that is installed enabled and functioning: http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx

Possibly this feature is being replaced with the sky-drive http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_SkyDrive

I have tried an old email with pictures attached, and that does not display as a slideshow with silverlight enabled or disabled. I have not yet tried with a new email with newly attached photos.

Of more concern is a more ordinary attachment seems not to have displayed today in a hotmail email, it is offering to download as a zip instead.

yeah same here. i don't use Hotmail much, my Default email is Yahoo so i didn't realized the change sooner.

maybe Microsoft is intentionally doing this in order to make the users switch from Firefox to IE... just my thoughts :-P

Microsoft had problems with skydrive, which started the 19th of july, when also my problem started. They resolved this problem a few days ago. All the time however i could have my slideshow if i opened hotmail in explorer and i still can.

It seems as if microsoft changed something that works in explorer and not in firefox. Because i work a lot with photos I use the slideshow a lot

Problem resolved, don't know why , but everything works again in Firefox. Probably some update.
