When the Inbox is displayed and I delete one message, suddenly all the messages disappear. In their place is "No message found" even though the upper left of the screen shows that there are messages in the Inbox. All other folders also appear to have no messages.

The fix is to close and restart Thunderbird, and all messages re-appear. This happens at least once a day.

The program is running on Xubuntu 24.04.1. There are many message filters and the profile is around 7 GB.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion on how to fix. A screenshot is attached.

I've had 2 problems with Thunderbird for .5-1 year now. I'll make a separate post on the 'lost password' issue later. For this post, I'll focus on the failure to download emails issues.

When I do a send/receive (for all accounts), I will see for an account the name turn blue momentarily (indicating a new email), but that will disappear quickly and no email will be downloaded. When I go to webmail for that account...there is a new email in the inbox that failed to download. Further attempts to download are futile. This has happened with multiple accounts and multiple senders, and the only solution I've found is to move all the emails to local folders, delete the account, re-setup, and move the older emails back. Then it will download the email at issue (indicating to me it is not an issue with the email itself). Deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file doesn't solve the issue. Anyone know why this is happening and how to stop or at least fix it easier than my solution?

My gut says that the email is downloading, but is getting marked wrong somehow. The emails are not in any other folders that I've detected--they're not going to straight to trash. In thunderbird, all junk settings are off. the 'global' box is unchecked, as is the box in the specific account.

As for the details, it happened today and after I updated to the latest version 128.4.2esr, but that didn't help. It would have been the prior version before updating. Win 11, 1 yr old computer with no hardware issues. The computer is generally up to date...at most a version or so behind--I don't always update IMMEDIATELY.

I have 9 accounts--5/4 Pop3/IMAP. I use the pop3 mostly and that's where the issues are (solely). Also, Thunderbird data is on a NAS on a LAN. I understand that is not preferred, but I've been doing that for a decade or more without issues (until recently). I have my own domain, and that email system uses cpanel. I've had that for years without issue...again until now. I've made no changes on the email server end-that'd be beyond me anyway. And its intermittent--fairly rare, say 1 in 500 or more emails? No encryption.

I am getting very frustrated with the junk mail. I have very important emails ending up in junk. They aren't marked as junk but they are still being put in junk. Most are in my address book so shouldn't be there at all. Even when I mark them as not junk, they still get put in junk. I've reset the adaptive junk and it makes no difference. I've even turned off all junk settings and they still go into junk! I'm totally at a loss as to what to do. Please, can someone help? I'm seriously considering giving up on Thunderbird and using a different email client.

Hi folks, thanks for the amazing Thunderbird on Android.

I have a couple of observation I'd like to share.

1. When the device's theme is set to dark and Thunderbird follows, some parts of the email body becomes unreadable. This is not the case with Gmail (this is a Gmail account). I am attaching screenshots for this (1.jpeg for Gmail, 2.jpeg for Thunderbird). Is this an expected behavior?

2. The app seems to use green and violet colors for email body by default. And, it misses some of format colors of the email body itself. That is something I do not prefer. Is there a reason why Thunderbird chose this color and formatting? Is there a way to change the colors? Again attaching screenshots for this (please note the arrows I made especially, 3 for Gmail and 4 for Thunderbird and two others I did not number showing the green format (from Udemy)).

3. There are format problems with the Thunderbird (5 for Gmail and 6 for Thunderbird). Are these expected? It makes reading and seeing the mail problematic.

4. I think there is a problem with the way notification times are shown on Thunderbird. In the screenshot 7, you see that notification timestamp for Thunderbird is shown as 14:07. However, none of the emails shown just below have that time. Why would that be the case?

5. Lastly, even though the setting is set for Push, my emails come on average 10-25 minutes later than Gmail app itself. Is this also an expected behavior?

I can not create, delete or view peoperties of Folders. When ever I rey to create a folder I gate the following error in the error console:

As secretary of a bridge club I use "replay to" very frequently. To my surprise it behaves funny with version 128.4.2. When send to recipients and replaying to the recieved email I see the screen where another account signature is used and the replay is not filled in. As this is send to about 100 people its not nice. Hope you can fix this.

Hello, I have authorised notifications in the Thunderbird application for Android, but I don't receive any when I receive emails. For your information, in Account Settings > Notifications, I checked the first box "Notifications of new emails" and the fifth box "Synchronisation notifications". What's more, in the "Notification categories" section (further down), in the screen that opens before "Emails", the "Alert" and "Application icon badges" boxes are ticked, and there's a sound associated with the "Sound" heading. With Sequoia released - the "Writing Tools" invoking Apple's AI are available in most apps now via the context menu (e.g. select a paragraph/block of text and right-click and the context menu or menu bar shows the menu entry "Writing Tools" wherein you can get the Apple AI ecosystem to rewrite, proofread etc - however this is not available yet in Thunderbird 128.4.2 when composing/editing an email.

See the screenshot below - I'm writing this using Safari and it's available here - even for this little message...

I appreciate this is a North American facility at present and you have to fully enable US English on your Mac and then enable "Apple Intelligence" in system settings...but once you have done this, the facility is available in most apps unless the API chosen doesn't support it.

Any thoughts if / when Thunderbird might get updated to use the API to invoke or enable this?

If I can think of the one writing app where I spend most of my time, it's eMail.....while it's true I can select a paragraph and pop it over to Notes via copy-paste, invoke the AI there and paste it back - that's not as convenient.

I've looked at other people having the same problem. When I delete an email, the one next to it gets deleted also. This has been going on for some time now. I've lost an important email to this problem. Somehow it needs to just target one email, not any others.I'm using a mouse with a cord at my desktop. The menu at the left expands sometimes, when I don't mean it to do that.
