adobe acrobat-create pdf addon not compatible for firefox 37.2

more options

after I installed firefox 37.2, the previous adobe acrobat reader, viewer and pdf creator are suddenly unable to use. the error message is "incompatible with firefox 37.2. If so, please ask adobe whether they are able to tell me where to install the compatible addon.

I would like to know how to update such addons. Or, maybe I should downgrade my firefox version to older ones just so I can use the addon. If so, please advise how to downgrade the firefox version.

thank you.

I can't tell what version of CreatePDF you have, but version 2.0 should still be working. I think version 1.2 stopped working a while ago.

Your Adobe Acrobat plugin has a peculiar version number, according to your More System Details, of 15.7.20033. The expected value is 11.0.10.32.

Could you investigate that further by typing or pasting about:plugins in the address bar and pressing Enter. This should load a long page listing details about your plugins. If you use the Find feature (Ctrl+f) to look for nppdf can you find an entry with that version number? Is it in an odd location? The normal location for Adobe Reader would be similar to:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Reader\browser\nppdf32.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Reader\Air\nppdf32.dll

What do you find?
