I downloaded 9 photos from a website and I cannot find them in Downloads, Pictures, Documents, My Box in my Windows 7.
From an email, I was sent to a website containing 9 photo thumbnail images. The website said "Download Here" and showed 9 images of photos which could be opened without downloading. But I uploaded them. The folder name containing the 9 images was shown above the 9 images, and each image has a file name. Neither the folder name nor any of the files came up when I used the Search programs and files of Windows 7. Yet, I sat there and watched the "loading progress bar" complete the uploads. It took a while because the files are very large. When I go back to the original webpage with the images, it shows that they have been uploaded. Where are they? Any ideas? Not sure about Firefox version. Properties say: Type of file: Shortcut (.Ink) Description: Firefox Size: 1.11KB; Size on disk: 4.00KB Last modified: July 25, 2012

Do you still have the files listed in the Downloads Manager (Library)?
If that is the case then you can right-click this entry and see is "Open Containing Folder" is enabled. If that item is grayed then the file is no longer present in this location and might have been removed by your Anti-Virus software or other cleanup software.
Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar.
What is listed as the download folder?
I don't have a Downloads Manager under Library I have a Downloads folder listed under Favorites, and I've already looked there and it is not there. I also have a Downloads folder listed under Documents, but it is not there either.
Sorry to be so ignorant, but I don't know what you mean by "address bar." do you mean an address bar in Thunderbird email message? or on the website I'm trying to download, or an address bar somewhere else?
The address bar is the current web site on the window/tab.
OK, I did that and it indicates that downloads are going to Download file on my computer, i.e., Computer/Downloads But those 9 files that the website shows as "uploaded" are not there.
Are you uploading, or downloading?
Open the Download Manager <Control> J Look for the file(s), right click and select Open Folder
It is possible that the files in the Firefox disk cache if you have visited a web page that displays them.
Can you locate the files in the history if you use the search bar in the sidebar or in the History Manager and search for this domain?
I looked in the Download Manager and the History Manager with no success. The website folder with the 9 photos had a link labeled "Download." I clicked on that, and then independently clicked on each photo and watched the progress bar downloading (to my computer I assumed). It did not give me an opportunity to say where to download them, it just started downloading them - one at a time. Some of them took about 2-3 minutes.
I've looked in almost every folder I have, both under date downloaded and size (for large ones). No luck. I've just about decided that I must have left out a step and they didn't get downloaded. Which would not be a big deal because I could go through the process again, or just look at the photos, because I probably wouldn't keep them anyway. The reluctance to do that though, is that a) I don't want those big files on my disk permanently, and b) it irritates me that I can't find them if they are there. However, I really appreciate your efforts and time. thanks
