Why is "close all windows" no longer closing all Firefox windows.
When I use firefox I have multiple windows always open as part of my routine. I rarely use Tabs. Until recently I've always closed Firefox (along with all pages open) by right clicking on Firefox pages Icon in Taskbar and choosing "Close All Windows". This always did the trick every time until recently. Now when I do this it closes about half the pages and I have to keep repeating it until they are all gone. Closing windows one by one or hitting File, Close works too but I rarely do it that way. Chrome and Palemoon close windows fine as they always did but now for some reason Firefox is different. This is a Windows function, everything can be closed with "Close All Windows". Everything now but Firefox.

Hi MikeO, next time, could you try doing it through the menu, either:
- "3-bar" menu button > Exit
- (menu bar) File > Exit
Do you notice the same pattern?
If so, my guess would that somehow independent instances of Firefox are getting started, each with its own set of windows. Normally Firefox can't start independent instances in the same profile, but on the other hand, different profiles tend to have difference in appearance, although Sync might make them look very similar if you normally sign your Firefox in to a Firefox Account.
I have some thoughts about investigating further, but to avoid a miles long reply, I'll pause here. Let us know about the next "exit."
It closes fine that way with File, Exit or 3-bar menu. Only right clicking on Close All Windows from taskbar doesn't now close them all like it used to.
