Hi this is Naveen here from Bangalore. We are using a mozilla thunder mailmerge recently we could not able to send mail its showing an error that ( Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.itcertificationco.com timed out. Try again. ) We have checked with our technical team also with the SMTP outgoing server its working fine but we could not able to send mails sometimes the mail goes 25 and sometimes 7 sometimes 1. Kindly let us know what is the resolution for the same. We look forward to hear from you.

Very often this has to do with your virus-protection (VP). Scanning outgoing mail (or denying T-bird to send) can create a time-out error. This can be caused by an update. Your VP doesn't recognize T-bird any more as an allowed sender. Set your VP to NOT scan your profile. And to allow send (and recieve)
Kindly let us know know how to do that. Morning we can able to send mails but again the same problem continues getting an error Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.businesscertification.in timed out. Try again.
Can you kindly let me know is there anyway we need to do the settings step by step
The settings are not in Thunderbird.
You need to do this in your antivirus/firewall program.
for example: In Norton Internet security Settings > Antivirus locate 'Email antivirus scan' and click on 'configure' to see options.
Checked but still we are facing a similar kind of problem.
Yesterday mail went normally after some time. I do not know that problem is it with your end or from the domain end.
We are using the domain as below . mycertification.co.in itcertificationco.com
Could you please come up with the resolution
"your end"? I think you misunderstand what Thunderbird is. It's a program on your computer. It talks to various servers to get and send your email messages. Who operates your servers?
Mozilla /Thunderbird doesn't offer servers.
We have outsourced our servers to our vendor they are operating from their end.
But we have checked with them they are saying problem with the Thunderbird mail merge ad from our end we do not have any problem
If it is problem with the vendor,
how come the mails are going now per account we can able to send mails.
Now i have checked by sending single single mail its working fine i have sent 40 to 45 single mail in one account. So there would be no problem with the SMTP server. I think the problem with the mail merge mail sending can you check and let me know.
A quick response would be appreciated.
Mail Merge creates a bunch of single emails using a template.
Let's check your Mail Merge settings. Please post images showing what settings you are currently using and also what the Template looks like. Below is an example of the kind of info I need you to supply. An image showing template used. An image showing MailMerge window.
How many email addresses/contacts do you send to in one Mail Merge?
Attached images for the same.
As per you mentioned we are using the same settings in the mail merge but still we are facing a problem
Thanks for posting images. there are a couple of things I would like you to check.
The second (middle) image above showing one of your templates, has something after the: TO: {{Email}} But as it is not a good focus, I cannot see what it is. It looks like it might be chevrons perhaps ? There should be nothing after {{Email}}. Can you confirm what it is? I suggest you remove it and resave the template.
In a Template TO field: If you insert Name and Email then you need chevrons either side of the Email, see my template example eg: TO: {{Name}} <{{Email}}> If you only use Email (as you show in both templates), then there should not be any chevrons. This shows correctly in your last image. eg: TO: {{Email}}
I'm presuming the use of 'Name' and 'Email' are the exact spellings of the column headers in your .csv file.
For example, in my template, you will see I use : TO: {{First Name}} {{Last Name}} <{{Email}}> In the test .csv shown below, you will notice that the column headers are also: 'First Name' 'Last Name' and 'Email'.
Can you show me an image which shows the column headers in the .csv file? Like image below. Open the .csv file and use 'Alt' + 'Print screen' key to capture the image. then paste it into 'Paint' program. Use the Editing tools to select the section showing the column headers and crop the image; save as jpg and then use the 'Browse' button (as you did previously) in this forum to upload the image.
