Firefox not allowing credit card swipes to be processed correctly, enters incorrect digit after swipe (But works in Chrome)
You have a topic that describes my problem that has never been addressed nor has there been any resolve posted. The post was entitled "Business question - firefox not allowing credit card swipes to be processed" We use firefox on all of our business PC and its time to get this resolve or dump the browser for one that does not give us this issue. Both Chrome and Edge work with our point of sale.
I work with a small business that processes point of sale transactions using an online browser. Specifically, we use Repair Tracker Online in the firefox browser on PCs running Windows 10. We process most payments with a usb credit card swiper. The credit card swiper is read by the computer as a keyboard, and does not require any installed drivers or plugins
As of about 4 months ago, we are now no longer able to process swiped credit card payments in the firebox browser. However, we are able to process swiped payments using Microsoft Edge on the same computer. When using Firefox we always end up with the credit card numbers being entered incorrectly and scattered with symbols. Names on the credit card when swipped are also obeing displayed incorrectly. this only happens in firfox anot not chrome or edge. It had worked fine in firefox for the past 5 years up until the last 4 months we've had to swipe the card and then manually edit the info inthe filed that are incorrect. this has become a pain and we can no longer tolorate it. if you can not steer us in the right direction we will ditch the firefox browser.
Please advise ASAP !!!
