This will happen and cause the page to stall, not load, which is especially bad on a page with a download link or if it's a search engine. The highlighted part of the attached image is an example of which part of the URL flashes incredibly fast - appearing and disappearing.
I just recently had an instance of the url bar typing the same word and deleting it over and over again at the end of the address. I was watching the word "drawers" appear as if I was typing it myself, letter by letter.
Refreshing doesn't help and will refresh the previous page because the faulty link will carry over to the next page if it's on a search engine for example.

I've noticed that when video media begins to play, it often suddenly slows down the entire browser's processing ability and cuts to strange visual glitches limited to just the video window, usually green and pink pixelated glitches. This doesn't happen on YouTube, nor does it happen when I use other browsers like Edge. I'm on Windows 11, using the latest Firefox version, with Strict privacy settings and a reliable and simple adblock. Had the same setup on a previous Windows 10 laptop and did not have these issues. It's getting frustrating and is impacting my experience with this browser across multiple websites. I refuse to switch back to sketchy, predatory browsers like Chrome and Edge, so I hope this can be fixed, either on my end or on Mozilla's. Thanks! (Attached a screenshot of the visual glitches.)

On some websites, the ligatures for ff, fi, fl, and others are scrambling with other font rendering behaviors.
I can most clearly test this on the mobile version of wikipedia (normal wikipedia doesn't have this problem since it uses a different font), but there are other sites experiencing the same issues. The issues are as follows:
I have attached images showing each of these rendering issues. Note that the titles are not bugged, because they're being rendered in a Sans Serif font.
I am only getting this issue on Firefox. Other browsers like librewolf do not have this problem. Still, I tried reinstalling Roboto, and it did not solve the issue. I am running Arch Linux on the X window system.

Hello!
I am reaching out regarding an issue I am having lately. Recently a great number of sites has been showing me an error regarding an embedded site and blocking me completely from it's content.
I've read on many forums and searched the brower console and it seems like firefox is having an issue with X-Frame-Options being set to "sameorigin". It gives me a lot of trouble and is blocking me out of a lot of media.
I love security measures Mozilla has implemented over the years but I do not feel comfortable when software I use won't let me toggle less important safety features On/Off or at least whitelist sites I know are safe.
Speaking bluntly, it's ridiculous that I have to try 10 different websites with the content I want to watch, just to find one that has a built-in player, instead of an embedded one. It also seems to be spotty with what it blocks and what it doesn't block as some sites with an embedded player work with no issues.
I couldn't find any way to turn it off that won't possibly affect other security measures, or won't require me to go into brower console every time I want to access media.
Please instruct me how to fix this issue and consider making changes regarding it.
Thank you in advance :)

Every time I launch a fresh copy of Firefox all my saved accounts ect are gone. Now I know they aren't gone because the profiles.json files is still there. What has happened is firefox has taken the cookies.sqlite and added .bak on the end.
I've reinstalled firefox, tripple checked my settings and clearing stored data on browser close. What am I missing to stop firefox from doing this?

i can't get firefox.com/pair to show on my desktop.
I have just reinstalled MS Word on both PC & phone, (as something has gone wrong with my somewhat elderly PC). My phone (Samsung) says to connect mobile device with my Mozilla account, then I need to open Firefox on the PC, visit Firefox.com/pair, and follow the instructions to connect the mobile device.
I can't find firefox.com/pair on the PC.

I've recently done a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and have noticed that, only for firefox (134.0.2, build ID 20250120135430), a few videos playback without any audio, yet the same videos play with audio when using edge as a comparison. Most (if not all) of these videos did play with audio in firefox prior to this reinstall.
Firstly, I'm pretty sure this is not a windows sound mixer issue since many videos on the same page and tab play back with audio just fine in firefox. The same goes for it not relating to the firefox setting 'Speaker selection', under (burger) > settings > privacy & security > Permissions because videos of different formats (or using different players) on the same page play back audio fine. The tab is not muted. Again, some videos on the same browser tab play audio fine; some of a particular format or player only play the video, while missing the audio (and where Edge plays the same video with audio).
Another common and potentially relevant issue I've seen is that, this being a 'Windows 11 N" install, it was initially missing the settings > system > optional features > Media feature pack, but that is now something I've successfully added. I should add that windows did report problems when I initially tried to add the media feature pack but, after a very long delay, it eventually appeared to succeed when I ran a couple of DISM incantations that I think ended with - "dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0"
I have the 'Play DRM-controlled content' setting enabled.
Comparing the firefox vs edge video playback on this video test page - https://tools.woolyss.com/html5-audio-video-tester/ I get the following results (don't know how to get it formatted/aligned correctly, sorry) -
FF vid FF audio Edge vid Edge audio av1-opus-sita.webm Works Works Works Works vp9-vorbis-spring.webm Works Works Works Works vp8-vorbis-sintel.webm Works Works Works Works avc-aac-nerdist-friends.mp4 Works MISSING Works Works avc-aac-big-buck-bunny.m4v Works MISSING Works Works avc-mp3-sita.mov Works Works Works Works
And perhaps also relevant is that there's also a difference in the audio-only samples further down the table on the same page -
FF audio Edge audio audio-sample.mp3 Works Works audio-sample.weba Works Works audio-sample.ogg Works Works audio-sample.opus Works Works audio-sample.flac Works Works audio-sample.wav Works Works audio-sample.m4a FAILS Works ac192.mp3 Works Works spoonradio-hd.aac FAILS Works audio.opus Works Works
Also, every 'v.redd.it' / reddit-video-player video plays the video fine but has no sound when using firefox but plays both sound and video fine with Edge. Here's one for example - https://old.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/1i7y1nr/rock_paper_scissors/
I've seen lots of similar (but not identical) issues on firefox video with no audio problems with suggestions a few things to try. In addition to what I've already mentioned above, I've tried the following without success -
- Restarting windows - Restarting firefox - Restarting firefox with addons/extensions disabled - 'about:support' > Refresh firefox - 'about:support' > Clear startup cache - (hamburger) > more tools > task manager > (click the little profile icon for the page playing the video) - I've checked the settings suggested here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#w_check-some-firefox-settings
I realise it may be possible to side-step this problem by flailing around with more drastic work-arounds like trying a clean re-install of windows or a full uninstall and clean of firefox, but that doesn't really help figure out the problem, which leaves the possiblity it could easily happen again to me or others when it might be something that can be more properly fixed or guarded against in firefox itself, so I hope someone can suggest what might be done to home in on identifying the cause of the problem and so learn whether a more precise fix can be employed.

In the last couple weeks i've encountered an issue where video footage, but not the audio or the video progress itself, will freeze if I tab out of Firefox and into a game window.
Here's a video showing the issue
Like shown in the video, It only seems to affect Firefox and not other browsers, and it only happens when I switch to a game window, not other tabs. It should also be noted that although the video only shows YouTube footage, this issue affects every player I've tested it on.
I've tried this both with and without extensions enabled, as well as just about every video player related config in the about:config page, and with both hardware acceleration on and off, still with no luck resolving the problem.
If anyone has had a similar issue and managed to fix it, help doing so for myself would be much appreciated.

I downloaded a PDF and used Firefox to view the file. I'm trying to find key words in the PDF and I always get phrase not found. As a test I inputted a word I found in the document but find in page stated phrase not found. What am I doing wrong? I remember that I have used that feature in the past and it worked.
I use my entire screen for different things, the auto expand feature that fills my entire screen with the page that is opened is intrusive, how can I turn it off?

Expected behavior: no gap between screen border and new firefox window
