How do I update an plug in when my only choices are always activate?
I'm trying to update an plug in. Was trying to view a video for help about my internet company and it says plug in disabled. So, I checked and it said never activate. I changed it to always activate and restarted my computer. It still says that. If I try the link to check my plugins, I have a list that come up that say unknown plug=in. It doesn't give me an option to activate, only to research? What do I do?

Your System Details list only shows a few plugins that have a state = 0 and thus are disabled. There aren't any media player plugins among them AFAICT.
plugin.state.java: 0 plugin.state.npauthz: 0 plugin.state.npctrl: 2 plugin.state.npdeployjava: 0 plugin.state.npfbplugin: 2 plugin.state.npgeplugin: 0 plugin.state.npgoogleupdate: 0 plugin.state.npitunes: 2 plugin.state.nplastpass: 2 plugin.state.npmotive: 2 plugin.state.npolw: 0 plugin.state.nppdf: 2 plugin.state.nppicasa: 2 plugin.state.npqtplugin: 2 plugin.state.nprpspa: 2 plugin.state.npspwrap: 2 plugin.state.npwlpg: 2
You do not seem to have the new WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll), so you may have to install that plugin.

When you are on that page where the video won't play, if you click the plugin notification icon in the address bar (looks like a Lego block), does it identify the plugin the site wants to use and let you activate it?
If this page doesn't require a login, could you post a link to it for further investigation?

No, it didn't, but I tried the website with google and google told me I needed to install a new update for Java. Now I'm working.
Kinda stinks that FF didn't tell me that:(
Plugins are installed on system and not in Firefox like Extensions and Themes are as to why you can only tell Firefox to make use of it or not by activate/deactivate.
cor-el thanks! I followed all your links and installed some others that were missing!
