we are Verizon. This a.m. suddenly Thunderbird would not send email, and gave me the message above. I checked my server settings, and it says, "normal password."

1. Reboot the computer.

2. Wait a day to see if the problem still remains. It may be a temporary problem with Verizon.

3. Check the SMTP server settings in Thunderbird: Menu: Tools: Account Settings: Outgoing Server (SMTP): Find the Verizon server in the list and click edit. Compare the settings to Set up your email software with your Verizon email account settings

4. If there is still a problem, ask Verizon for help. The problem is not likely to be with Thunderbird.
