Receiving error message although email is delivered:"The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <_ _ _ @_ _ _ .com> (reason: 550 Host unknown)"
I moved to a new pc, downloaded and installed Thunderbird 31.4.0. ALl is well except that I regularly receive the following error notice. It appears that emails identified are actually delivered (actual address removed from below).

well you have redacted the name of the server issuing the error. So all I can cay is contact them and ask why they are sending these messages.
What is happening is your mail server is reporting back that it can not find the domain your sending mail to.
This is not a Thunderbird issue. It might however be indicative of a poor hosting choice.
Well... I though that was ethically appropriate. So I get these messages regularly now, but from many different servers. I had no such problem until the new install, and have not changed any of my service providers. FOr what it is worth, from the last notice received:
"The original message was received at Wed, 11 Feb 2015 13:03:51 -0500 from atl4mhob10.myregisteredsite.com [209.17.115.48]"
"Host unknown (Name server: fireca.gov: host not found)"
... also, as I indicated, the emails are actually being delivered, so the notices are in error.
how can I be more clear. The mail server can not resolve the address. Thunderbird is not involved here. The mail server is. If it is borked, please contact your provider as to why. It sounds to me like your provider has screwed up their DNS so the mail server can not access it at certain times. Perhaps they are oversubscribed.
Go here http://www.dnsstuff.com/ and feed it myregisteredsite.com. Perhaps the issue will appear on their tests.
