Since updating to T-bird 45, message font has shadows and is fuzzy

Yesterday I updated to Thunderbird ver. 45.0 - Now about 20% of the email messages that I receive display a shadowed fuzzy font (please see attached).

Are you working on an update to resolve this problem or should I roll back to version 44.XX whatever?

Verify whether hardware acceleration is disabled.

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button , then select Options > Advanced > General.

Un-check 'Use hardware acceleration when available'.

Thanks for your suggestion. The box was already "Un-checked". So I checked, restarted T-Bird and so far the problem is gone. Should it reappear, I'll try the "Un-check" option next time.

The default for Thunderbird is 'hardware acceleration' turned off. It should work then. If it doesn't you may want to raise a new bug in Bugzilla. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/
