I had the "access your location" security function set for a web address but i mistakenly undid the command.

When I try once more to check the permission " access your location" box to set it for "ask every time", it does not save and does not ask when i once more try to refresh for this web address......why is it not saving the command? i then go to check and see it did not save the change. please advise. thank you

When I try to send a message with an attachment I receive this error:

"Sending of the message failed. There was an error attaching 006.jpg. Please check that you have access to the file."

The file exists, I have permissions and it does not happen on 115.10.1 (64-bit) I have the two Thunderbirds installed, one is repo and the new one is flatpak (Ubuntu 24.04)

I have an IMAP-Account on ZOHO (which work like a charm until 3 days ago). But since 3 days I have the issue that I can not delete some mails in this account.

If I delete them (or marked it as spam, or as read) they turn back in a few seconds as new unread messages.

I've already try the following: 1. Start in Troubleshoot mode 2. Close TB, go to Imap-Folder and delete the Trashbin (I've read this hint in a forum, as the trasbin-file may be corrupt). 3. Go to settings of the account settings (right Mouse Button > Settings > General Information > Repair Folder 4. Checked the Developer Console for errors... no errors shown

Non of those solved it.

So I decide to deep-check what happend and found following: 1. I've deleted an incoming, unread email from November the 7th. Immediately it was shown again as "new Mail" for TODAY 8:00 AM (see attachment: Thunderbird_Inbox) 2. I've looked into my Webmailer and found that the Email is still there (see attachment Webmailer_zoho)

I've done the same for another Email: 1. It is shown as unread, and I've deleted it in THunderbird 2. It appears again immediately - but this email appear with the same In-Date: 12.11.24 16:12 3. BUT in my Webmailer it's shown in the trash-bin

So something very strange is going on here!! Any Idea how to debug and fix this?

The pop-up that appears is the same as in https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1g09q1h/how_to_disable_popup_on_gmail_use_firefox_to_open/

Do note that I'm also using thunderbird and it is installed as the default mail handler in windows.

I've also changed network.protocol-handler.external.mailto to false in the firefox settings. It has not solved the issue, the question re-appears at every firefox startup.

I was having trouble adding my NYU email account to Thunderbird and browsing the forums I found this post with my exact same issue.

I just wanted to open a thread because I found a solution to my problem by following one the comments in the original post.

The configuration you should use to configure the account should be as follows (as of Nov. 2024),

Incoming server: imap.gmail.com on port 993 with SSL/TLS using OAuth2 Incoming server username: your NetID without the trailing "@nyu.edu".

Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com on port 465 with SSL/TLS using OAuth2 Outcoming server username: your NetID (as before)

Once you input this configuration you will be asked to log-in through Google, and from there on everything should work as intended.

Hope this wil be useful to someone.

This is getting completely ridicolous! First SMPT failed to connect, than IMAP stopped working with our years old perfect working OAuth2 config. So we deleted in the end the program. re-installed the latest version of Thunderbird and tried to reconnect our Gmail account with our user/password (both 1000% correct!!), all on Oauth2 according to your help, but nothing works, simply getting error message that either config, user or password are incorrect.

I am trying to use Zoho CRM to call clients by clicking on their phone icon. It shows me a pop up saying "Connecting..." but nothing happens. Zoho support examined the issue in depth with screens share and ended up telling me the issue is with my firefox (they insist this function normally works with firefox browser) not connecting to WebRTC.

The action works fine in Chrome.

Any ideas anyone?

When downloading a file, if the filename has no extension, Firefox adds ".html" to the filename. I want it to leave the filename as-is, with no extension. It will leave the name intact if I surround it with quotation marks, but it didn't previously require this.

Firefox Settings relates to Firefox extensions, which is not this issue. And the list of Applications does not include names that don't have an extension.

Example of situation: An SSL Certificate site needs to confirm my ownership of a domain. I download a file from the issuing site. The file's name has no extension. Firefox adds ".html", which causes the file to be not found after uploading.

Firefox did not have this misbehavior before the most recent update.

I use insert link all the time and it will work great for weeks and then randomly freezes. I have read so many threads about Band-Aid solutions for this as it seems to be a well established problem - so come one TB- solve it so it doesn't happen!! Anyway these are the solutions that have worked best for me

  1. Use the esc key when your email freezes - this unfreezes the email instead of having to force close thunderbird - and then you can chose to paste the http link instead of insert.
  2. If you have two screens - move your email to the opposite screen and try again - I found that the link screen dialogue box seems to have a preferred space between itself and the email (so incongruous)
  3. Click Alt+spacebar to open the move dialogue box which allows you to move the email and sometime reset the location of the link dialogue box
  4. Turn off hardware acceleration in settings general (at the bottom)
  5. close thunderbird and open in safe mode by holding shift whist clicking TB. at the prompt: 'Reset toolbars & controls', 'Make changes & restart'.

But this should not be an ongoing problem - its super annoying and needs to be addressed

Hello I have a problem where I get an error message "Unable to use profile when you launch an older version of Thunde...."

I noticed that I had 2 versions of the program installed, 115.16.0 and 128.3.3. Thunderbird must have been running okay up to v115.16.0 as I had to do manual installs from then to now. Initially there seemingly was no indication of any problem. I'm not sure how many manual installs I did as it was only 15th Oct that this issue started. I was on holidays for 6 weeks Thunderbird was unused between about 28th Aug to 15th October. So, my Thunderbird was running at 115.16.0. I tried to uninstall 115.15.0 but it said I had another version that needed to have the uninstall completed by rebooting the PC. I did that but 115.16.0 still remained. I uninstalled 128.3.3 successfully. 115.16 still wouldn't uninstall, so I used a program to cleanup all of this version. I reinstalled 128.3.3 and still get the same problem I started with. "Unable to use profile when you launch an older version of Thunde...."

How can I get Thunderbird running? Regards Alllan

San Francisco Chronicle e-paper does not display correctly in FF for Android, and often other browsers. Some pages will not scroll below the initial window, but when page is clicked and opened, then closed, the page may display correctly. Very annoying.
