As in the question. I'm having a problem with firefox, so decided to refresh it. But after 5 minutes it just reverts back to my old settings. All my old add ons reappear. Happened twice now.

I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it. Still got the original problem that I had tried to resolve by refreshing. So I uninstalled again and then searched for everything related to mozilla and firefox and deleted it. Then reinstalled firefox. Seems now to be working properly! Mind you, took about 1.5 hours to put back everything as I wanted and to reinstall all the extensions.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this could help others with similar problems.

No idea how to do that. More difficult than resolving firefox problem! LOL :)

So I'll just say it appears to be sorted.
