I've recently had a issue with the "Oops this is embarrassing" tab, where I'm unable to restore my previous session tabs. I've done a full Uninstall (i.e) Uninstall Firefox, CCleaned Registry, Deleted remaining registry keys and folder regarding firefox and deleted all Firefox folders from the Appdata folders {Roaming} and {Local}.......

Done a hard restart and a fresh install of Firefox (no plugins or anything) and what do you know still the same problem, the "Oops" screen appears. I would like fire fox to Automatically restore my tabs as it did before the update.

Before you say it, yes "Show my windows and tabs" is selected and I've also selected "remember history" and "Use custom settings for History" in the privacy tab!

Still not Automatically Restoring Previous Session!

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

Yeah, Sessionstore.js is being deleted when starting Firefox, but is present when closing firefox.

What could cause this?

Should i manually "User Define" the option in about:config? Because the option is off in settings for "Clear history when Firefox closes"!

Just tried to set privacy.clearOnShutdown.cache to "false" but problem is still present!

Here is a image of config!

The problem is that the sessionstore.js is being deleted on Firefox startup, but all settings are set to false!

I think this is One "Major" bug!

Quote: Yeah, Sessionstore.js is being deleted when starting Firefox, but is present when closing firefox.

That is OK as that is how it works. Firefox uses files in the sessionstore-backups folder during run time and creates sessionstore.js when you close Firefox. The sessionstore.js file is created from recovery.js when you close Firefox and is removed and copied to previous.js when you start Firefox to make is possible to restore the session at any time.

You will normally find these files in the sessionstore-backups folder:

previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

You can copy a file from the sessionstore-backups folder to the main profile and rename the file to sessionstore.js to replace the current file (make a backup copy of the current sessionstore.js).

You can leave the services.sync.prefs.sync.* prefs set to their default value true as theses prefs only determine whether to sync prefs to other connected devices when Sync is used.

Upgrade.js not present

Whats the point of me always creating a backup/copy or previous.js or recovery.js or sessionstore.js every time i want to use Firefox? That's way more extra work!

I need to solve this problem, not make extra work for a work around!

P.S,

Sessionstore.js is being created in the root profile folder not in sessionstore-backups folder!

I was having the same problem, my previous sessions could not be restored. I had to do a complete reinstall so now its working fine, yours seem to be some file issues.

Stop peddling you adds please, I've already done a complete uninstall and reinstall. If you read the previous posts you would know that. Thanks for trying to help, but it hasn't worked. I've done a full /appdata, Registry and folder delete/uninstall and the problem still persists!
