I've used TBird on my PC for years, and like it. Recently Verizon email migrated to AOL, and I received messages from AOL about updating, but did not understand and could not follow the instructions despite several attempts. O/A 1/3/2018, I attempted to change from POP to IMAP. Since then, I can't log in to TBird. None of the passwords I have work. I currently have 3 email accounts on TBird, a @verizon.net POP account, a @verizon.net IMAP account and a @gmail,com account. Only the Gmail account works, but I only use it as a throw away account. I thought about deleting the TBird program and reinstalling it, but I don't want to lose my emails and contact list. I am limited in using email, since my phone does not have all the contacts that TBird does. I don't know how to export them to the AOL app on my iPhone 6S. What I would like to do, is have IMAP across my PC, iPhone and iPad, and export at least some of my group email addresses to my phone. I am only a little familiar with the jargon of the computer literate.

re :I've used TBird on my PC for years, and like it. Recently Verizon email migrated to AOL, and I received messages from AOL about updating, but did not understand and could not follow the instructions despite several attempts.

Do you mean you did not migrate to AOL as advised? https://help.aol.com/articles/verizon-move-to-aol-mail-faq QUOTE: I did not migrate my @Verizon.net email address to AOL or extract my data. (Contacts, Calendar information). What can I do?

Customers no longer have the option to keep their verizon.net email address or extract their data to another service provider. All verizon.net email, calendar and address book content that was not migrated to AOL or a third party email provider before December 5, 2017 has been deleted from our systems.

If you did not migrate as advised before the deadline: Your email address may no longer exists.

If you did migrate to AOL before the deadline : Perhaps you have as yet not updated to the new password ?

How to edit stored password:

  • 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Security' > 'Passwords' tab
  • click on 'Saved Passwords' button
  • click on 'Show Passwords' button
  • right click on 'mailbox://pop mail account' line and select 'Edit Password'
  • Remove old password and type new password'
  • right click on 'smtp://pop mail account' line and select 'Edit Password'
  • Remove old password and type new password'
  • Click on 'Close'
  • Click on 'OK'

re :I don't want to lose my emails and contact list. If you cannot use that email address anymore: Create new folders in the 'Local Folders' mail account. In POP mail account.

  • Select a folder to see list of emails.
  • select first email then use 'Ctrl' + 'A' to highlight all emails.
  • Right click on highlighted emails
  • select 'Copy to' and choose 'Local Folders' and a suitable folder.
  • Repeat for other folders.

This will get a copy of everything into 'Local folders' mail account. When everything is copied over, you can then delete emails from pop mail account folders. Compact the pop mail account folders to remove all hidden 'marked as deleted' emails.

  • right click on pop mail account folder and select 'Compact'

Finally, you can remove the pop email account.

  • Right click on pop mail account an select 'Settings'
  • make sure pop mail account name is selected.
  • Click on 'Account Actions'
  • select 'Remove account'
  • click on OK
