Firefox 19.0.2 keeps asking me to Choose User Profile, tried to fix it, nothing works, want to download earlier version

hello, this isn't a problem that is depended or triggered by any special version...
on which occasion does this dialogue appear, how are you launching the browser & do you use any software that might put firefox in a sandbox?
