I am seeing here and on the support forums more and more people trying to access their account and unfortunately because they need to reset their info. When trying to reset their info, users should get an email but they never do. When users select that they did not receive a confirmation email, the user then enters email address and gets a notice that they need to activate their account, once they do that, they get an email assuring them that their account is active. The user then tries to login but is unable to due to incorrect login info. Resetting again does not help no email is sent to the user (assuming that the user of course has checked their junk/ spam folder as well). Do we have a know issue to this and a resolution for this?

So, the users are creating new account and posting the issues regarding SUMO password reset.
So increasing in SUMO user accounts, waste of Database usage.

The same problem here. Had to create a new account with a temporary email to use Support - it would not allow me to use my main email, because "it is used by another account". Try to reset password - receive no email. At the same time can easily receive a confirmation about User ID and account activation. Thus, the account is completely locked, and I can not use my email address for a new one.

Presumably you can at least access the old profile and find threads you posted in. What was the other user name ?
If you start a thread an admin should be able to sort it out for you.

John99,
I can not access my old profile or my old account, because I can not log in and the system would not let me reset password. Are you recommending me to start a new thread, or otherwise I would not get a reply from a moderator/administrator?

Yes you probably will get a quicker response starting a separate thread yourself. Passing Admins will see that as something requiring attention and action rather than a low priority discussion thread. I am one of the moderators, but most account changes need to be made by an Admin.
You should still be able to see your old profile, that will be public, and the admin assisting will probably find it helpful if you are able to confirm the old username.
Example your current public profile with links to questions and answers posted by that user
Anyone may look at that, and in the same way you may look at your old profile.
