Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: After resetting Firefox, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Reset Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox" that looks like this: Button reset. Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After it is done, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

You may have one of those Yahoo malware in your computer. Try this;

Type about:addons<Enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable any Yahoo anything add-ons. Also check the plugins.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Using your file browser, open the Programs folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Remove Anything Yahoo

Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

At the bottom of that Yahoo results page in tiny print is a link "Learn More" which leads to a page describing the MyBrowserBar Network Error Assistant which you can disable from the Spigot toolbar.

http://www.mybrowserbar.com/searchsettings.html?cnid=0&ccv=0&ct=

Once that is disabled, I suggest getting Spigot off the computer completely. Likely it can be found on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Command+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

Or if Firefox is unusable with this thing installed, try starting up in Safe Mode. After exiting Firefox, hold down the option key while starting it up again. A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
