I have today had to refresh Firefox because it kept crashing on opening and I could not open it. Another thread said a Refresh was the best solution, so I now have Firefox V 40.0 using Windows 10.0 OS.

Suddenly, 2 hours after the refresh, it has slowed down to a snail's pace - slower than a very slow thing, like watching paint dry, like have an old-fashioned dial-up connection. Takes about 15 seconds to load my home page, and just as long to change pages, either within the same website or when connecting to a new website.

What has happend and what can I do to corrcet this? Is there something in the profile or add-ons of my old version of FF that I need to add in to the new version?

I used to really like Firefox, but today is beginning to destroy my faith in the product.

Cheers

Sorry, looks like it has self-sorted, as it is back to normal this morning. I think there was a Windows Update going on whcih I did not know about. Seems like Microsoft have disbaled user's ability to determine how and when updates are delivered in Windows 10. Apologies for rushing to the forum for help.
