Hi,

I have a problem accessing to ONE website, that is Outlook.com... I REALLY need to see my emails! Desperation's kicking in. Please help me to fix this problem, I have tried literally everything! This is the error that I keep getting:

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

There is security software like Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

This Connection is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / time zone settings.

If you can't inspect the certificate via "I Understand the Risks" then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:

  • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul

In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website.

  • retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
  • click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer

You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate. If necessary then you can attach a screenshot that shows the certificate viewer.

Thanks for the reply, I did the following steps and this is the certificate viewer, what do I do next?

I am having some problems with the time / date / time zone settings, every time I restart my computer, the date goes back to January 1st, 2002. This happened since the new year began. I have to update the time everything I use the computer. I have AVG anti virus installed, and have tried disabling it with no avail. Furthermore I have allowed Firefox on Firewall, so that can't be the problem. I have tried other browsers (IE, Chrome) but get the same problem with different errors. This only happens when I try to log into Outlook.com, I can access to all other websites ( YouTube, Google, Facebook...), normally. Previously my other computer was able to use Outlook, but now it seems to have the same problem of "Secure Connection Failed".

I have followed all the steps on the link you provided me (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems), but it's not fixing the problem.

I think the battery that powers the clock is dead. Contact the computers support site for more information, or visit a repair shop.

It seems to have been fixed, now it is synchronizing according to time/date/time zone and I no longer receive an error about it while initiating my computer. Now to the Outlook problem, is there anything I can do? Do you suggest me to call a technician? I don't know..

Was the battery fixed? Some of your problem was because of the clock issue.

Start at the beginning of this post, and try each idea again. ( ya, I know )  :-/
