How does one stop the same multiple entries from getting in to Library list?
When doing a search in the Library section sometimes as many as three of the same saved link/page show up. They all open to the same page as named as they should. But I only need one. It's not a space issue of course. I thought maybe if I forgot about saving the page before a popup might show up and read something like " Bookmark already in Library . Do you want to overwrite?"

There are extensions that find/remove duplicate bookmarks: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?category=bookmarks&platform=windows&q=duplicate&sort=recommended%2Cusers&type=extension
Thanks Franz I found one that did what I wanted. 439 Dupes of of 9,880-could have been worse!

You could remove the extra links, but having a warning that you already have a page bookmarked would be ideal. I do believe that when you try to bookmark an already bookmarked page, the blue bookmark star is already highlighted, at the very least.
Thanks Eve! Yes I have been deleting the extra ones as I find them. Ah I will have to start star gazing! :)

If you click the star to bookmark a link (tab) then Firefox shouldn't create a new bookmark. You would normally only get multiple copies if you drag a link to a bookmark folder or if you import an HTML backup or if you use Sync to sync bookmarks (there have been issues reported that syncing bookmarks to a mobile device causes this).

Thanks cor-el. I don't think I've ever used the star to bookmark. Which might be part of my problem. I always went up to the Bookmarks link between History and Tools and clicked Bookmark This Page. I need to pay attention and use the star in the future.
