How do I do different search engine searches in different tabs?
I'm trying to use separate tabs to do a different Google search in each tab, but can't find the way to do it.

When using the search bar in the upper right, holding Alt while pressing Enter makes the search results to open in a new tab rather than the current one.
Some more information about the Search bar (e.g. add/removing search engines) can be found here:

Open the Google search page (www.google.com) in multiple tabs?
Neither of the replies solves the problem. I want to make one search in tab no. 1 and another search in tab no. 2, whilst being able to go back to the original search in tab no. 1.
For the Google website you can set your preferences on the Google Search settings page:
Results Window: Open search results in a new browser window.
