screen fills up with black boxes,covers entire screen black

i playgames- screen gets filled with black boxes,larger & larger til they fill up screen. entire screen gets BLACK. have to click on X to exit,no other way to clear. starts up again w/in a minute,only can play for maybe 5 minutes maxium.
