Bookmarks Recovery
Can you recover your bookmarks after clearing cache/cookies. I didn't know that those were cleared in the process as well.

tylerdome, your bookmarks shouldn't be removed by clearing cache and cookies.
But if they have gone missing, then you might be able to restore bookmarks from Firefox's own backups. See the "Restoring from backups" section here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them
But note the part "Caution: Restoring bookmarks from a backup will overwrite your current set of bookmarks with the ones in the backup file".
I tried a couple of the suggestions and still was not able to sole the issue.
1. The restore option was just allowing to restore from dates after I had lost all my bookmarks. 2. The "recover user data missing after Firefox update" option also didn't work. There was no Files saved on my computer. 3. Checking for a different profile also didnt work.
Ive read that Firefox saves the 15 updates for bookmarks, so if there is a way to contact them directly and have them fix it I think that would be the simplest.

tylerdome, you could try searching all harddrives of your system for files matching the pattern "bookmarks*.json*", to see if there are any other bookmarks backup files saved locally.
Make sure that hidden files and folders are displayed and would be found by the searching process.
If you do find any, you can then try importing them via Firefox library > Import and Backup > Restore > Choose File. But first you may wish to backup the current set of bookmarks via Firefox library > Import and Backup > Backup.

Im convinced they are gone. Im not sure how. I cant find them on my computer anywhere. Does Firefox not keep their own back up of things like this?
Where/how did you remove cache and cookies as doing this in Firefox shouldn't have removed the bookmarks? Did you use external software or removed the profile folder?
I googled how to it and then followed this. It was posted by mozilla support.
- 1 In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version. ...
- 2 Select the Privacy & Security panel.
- 3 In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data… ...
- 4 On the dropdown next to When:, choose Everything. ...
- 5 Click the Clear button.
Wow. Never thought I was actually going to get them back. Thank you so much! Saved me a lot of headache.
