After downloading I don´t get an icon to drag into Application folder

I am downloading Firefox onto a new MacBook Pro. Download is fine, but then I don´t get a Firefox icon to drag into the Applications folder. It looks more like a hard drive and will not stay in the Applications folder. What am I doing wrong - in simple language please?
