Opening links in a new tab almost always redirects to my homepage

As the title says, whenever I middle-click or otherwise open a page in a new tab, after about a half-second of displaying the correct URL, it switches to my homepage and loads that instead. This happens when I middle-click on the Facebook bookmark on the toolbar or if I open a news link in a new tab. I haven't found any pattern to it, and it happens a lot more often than the page I actually wanted coming up.

I haven't tried much to fix this, I just reinstalled Firefox with the latest version and ran it without any addons enabled (didn't try Safe Mode, but I will and report back soon.)

Thanks in advance for any help :D

You may have two conflicting extensions installed - New Tab Homepage and New Tab URL. Disable the New Tab Homepage extension and see what happens.

Hmm, thought I would have seen that >.>

I'll reply here if it happens again, it doesn't want to at the moment, even with both enabled; sneaky bugger.

Yup, even with both disabled, it still happens quite a bit. It seems a lot more frequent when it's the first time I've run Firefox since I've turned off the computer, if that helps at all.
