I regularly have a difference in the number of emails being downloaded and the number of emails that appear in my in box. For example, this morning when I logged in it said that two emails were being downloaded and yet none appeared in my in box. I have never been able to locate a spam folder. Where are these emails going? Thank you. Dave D.

Thunderbird not loading properly

Thunderbird freezes on loading. It seems to be working (window notifications show incoming mails). The top bar has one item which says "loading" but never does! I am running WIN 11 pro with AVG. I have tried the following: - open TH in program safe mode - Open TH with laptop in safe mode - uninstall and reinstall - Open with antivirus turned off - Deleted all .msf files in current profile (judging by time and date) which seems to have been called xxxxxxxxx.repair . On restart TH did not reinstate the .msf files and the blank frozen screen was still there. - there were about 4 other profiles in the directory although in reality there should only be one. These profiles have various names: defaultnew, default (2 off), default-release and repair. - All profiles except the one with ".repair" were copied to another location before restarting. Any help would be appreciated.

recently i am having problems with sending emails from my desktop, via thunderbird. it keeps asking me to sign in with my new password. however i have not changed my password with virgin. i can send an email from my phone, so i know its not virgin. i have spent 3hours reading up and checked the server and outgoing settings, and changed switched adjusted what i could see, and set them back to the original settings, which in effect meant i have done nothing, and all of a sudden it works again. this did happen a couple of week ago, so not sure what's going on, and i really haven't got a clue what im doing, so any help or advice would be appreciated.

Something has changed in the way Thunderbird is handling Replies. Replies used to be added to the original email with an arrow indicating that the email had been responded to. Now the reply is added to the mail list as a separate email grossly clogging up the list of emails. Sometimes the "replay arrow" is displayed and sometimes not. I do not want the reply shown as a separate email. Is there some setting that will accomplish this? I have been unable to find anything that looks like it would work.

PS The Bold and Italic for this email did not work.

Please when answering this please keep it really simple when explaining as I am not very computer savvy. tia. I have enclosed the error message

New sub folders being added to Unified folders

Just wondering if there was a way to change the behavior of Thunderbird. Currently, if I add a subfolder to an IMAP mail account, that folder will show up in the Unified… (mear ynfo)

Just wondering if there was a way to change the behavior of Thunderbird. Currently, if I add a subfolder to an IMAP mail account, that folder will show up in the Unified Inbox. Yes, I know how to remove it from there but I'm getting tired of doing that each time I add a folder as I need to do it to multiple devices.

problem deleting open email from upper right hand task bar

When I want to delete an open email I have always used the delete function in the upper right hand corner of the open email. Since the program did it's major update there are times when I click on delete nothing happens and I have to keep clicking on it several times for it to finally delete the email. Also, when I open Thunderbird and then try to download my messages, many times the screen goes gray and I get a message at the top of the page that says Thunderbird is not responding. I have disabled all add ons and have tried to resolve this in troubleshooting mode but still no resolution. Thunderbird just isn't the same since the major update.

am I correct that there is today no way to save the attachments of several (many!) emails of a folder in Thunderbird?

I have the same email address since the 90s and many thousands of emails, many with good memories (photos). I came from Eudora who had a great idea: an attachment folder :). From the technical side Thunderbird is probably doing this ok, but from the user perspective, it is not nice that all attachment are quite lost in the mailbox files.

I know that there are addons and other software that say that can do this task, but the most popular addon is kind of not developed at the moment I guess, and I also got errors.

What would be your recommendation for my task ?

Thunderbird appears to have been disabled by Windows 11

As of Jan 1 I have been unable to access Thunderbird, an overlay box appears stating "We can't sign you In" (Below) The reason given, that I don't have cookies enabled in… (mear ynfo)

As of Jan 1 I have been unable to access Thunderbird, an overlay box appears stating "We can't sign you In" (Below) The reason given, that I don't have cookies enabled in my browser is irrational, I use Firefox mainly because I can block cookies, so why would I change anything?

It seems to be an attempt by M/Soft to force me to use Outlook, which I dislike and find difficult to use, plus of course does not have any of my calendars and only some of my addresses.

Is there a simple remedy? Everything was working normally before the end of December. I've already tried deleting New Outlook, and I'm on the point of just buying a new Mac Mini, but I'm short of time as I need to get this system running for an important community meeting on Tuesday.

Can anyone help?
