Hi. I have a dual boot system -> windows 10 and mx linux. I am learning about linux and would switch to it some day. I'm not aware of multiple profiles till recently. I'm finding it difficult to manage history and bookmarks. I would like to have two separate profiles - home and work , on both w10 and linux, with home profiles in sync on those, similarly for work profiles, created on only one account . Is it possible to do so ? Windows 10 - home, work mx linux - home, work

If not, it would be a huge help for users like us to separate browsing activity based on preferences, and use it anywhere, instead of managing one big chunk of data.

I'm currently dual booting Win 7 and openSUSE. You can just have 1 profile and the sync will see different devices. I just started using the Nightly version of Firefox yesterday and when I logged into it, all my bookmarks and add-ons just came over. I had to send my tabs from version 84 to Nightly and now it will be my daily browser.

Again, all you need is one profile and sync will see the browsers in Windows and Linux as different devices. see screenshot

Also get into the habit of bookmarking your tabs. I've lost my tabs several times in the past few weeks.

Thank you jonzn4SUSE for your response. It's creating a different device when I create a profile. Does firefox not have something where you can create multiple profiles on same device (and same account)? And access them on any system? This will be a great feature which I would like the developers to consider.

Also I want my w10 home profile to be in sync with only my linux home profile, similarly for work profiles. Can I choose which device can be in sync with the current device ? Essentially I want home and wok profiles on both the systems.Don't want to mix profiles. It's just so much pain.

You can create multiple Firefox accounts, but Sync will only show you the other devices, not the one that you're currently logged into. I can see my Tumbleweed device that I'm on because I have multiple versions for Firefox on it. Just get in there and do it and figure it out along the way.
