I opened my laptop to send an email and I cannot find Thunderbird on my computer! The icon is gone, and Thunderbird is not listed under Mozilla or Thunderbird in the program list in my Control Panel. Can you tell me what has happened and how I get it back? This is my main personal email account.

To check if your profile is still there, enter in Explorer %appdata%\Thunderbird\profiles If there is a directory named something like ?x1ed???56???.default , thats your profile, Open it and check that it still contains directories like MAIL and IMAPMAIL

Check if you have Thunderbird.exe in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird" If not Download and install a fresh copy in your language and for your OS from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all/

If it is there try to start Thunderbird from "run" (Window-key + R) If this doesn't work reinstall Thunderbird.

You didn't have any old profile? Any backups? You could try an extensive search for Abook.mab, if your lucky there are two abook.mab in different profiles as a new one were created when you reinstalled. (it didn't overwrite)

Did you upgrade your OS? Or changed username? I cant figure out why it otherwise deleted or moved both program and profile
