After update to Quantum (from 56), what files can be deleted?

My profile folder was some 8 GB huge. I deleted all the .sessions files and session-related data and now I'm at ~380 MB. What other files can I delete.

I upgraded from version 56 to Quantum and have been doing the updates since. I'm just interested in what files from the earlier non-Quantum version that might be hanging around just taking up space. File date/time is not a good indicator.

Hi farmerguiguy, I don't know about you, but the largest file at the main level of my profile folder is

content-prefs.sqlite 258MB

That's half of the total for my entire profile; no other file is even close.

This particular file stores site-specific data such as (A) last upload directory, (B) last download directory, and (C) modified zoom level. If I were to delete this file, the data would start accumulating from scratch. At some point I might do that...

Unfortunately, I don't know what files you might have that are no longer useful at all. You would expect some legacy extension data to be obsolete and unusable, but because legacy extensions were not consistent in how they stored data, this is something you may need to research a bit at a time.

Thanks, jscher2000...

That's a great tip and I might do that as well. Right now, my content-prefs.sqlite is [embarrassingly] small, so it's not necessary.

Hopefully, others will respond and give me some other tips...

During the refresh procedure only needed files are moved to the new profile. Unfortunatelly all extensions are also removed.
