When Firefox is pinned to the task bar a right click on the task bar icon pops up a menu offering a number of options including revisiting previously visited sites.

By what principle are URL's selected for display on this list? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. There's a couple of URL's I'd really like to pin to this list. How do I do that?

Hi,

It is a feature in Windows 7. Please see this. You can right-click on an entry and Remove from this list. If you hover the mouse over an item towards the right end, you may also be able to pin it permanently when the pin icon appears.

What I want to know is how items appear on this list in the first place. I know how to pin them or un-pin them if they're already there. I need to know how they got there in the first place. I go to may sites every bit as often as those that appear on the list but they don't appear. So how does and entry appear?

It would depend on the Visit Count counter in History (Alt + S) > Show All History.
