Each time I am using firefox an extra tab automatically opens up a website advertising products. How do I stop this.
Each time I am using firefox an extra tab automatically opens up a website advertising products such as cars. This started yesterday. It continues to open more tabs periodically as I am browsing. Although I have been visiting websites and downloading stuff. But I don't recall visiting an automobile site. And I definitely don't remember activating this feature. How do I stop this.

This type of behaviour can be caused by malware. Try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
