Firefox crashes every time I close it and have done everything to fix the problem
Each time I close Firefox, I am getting the crash report box (I can copy and send the crash report if thats helpful though it says it's submitting it somewhere?). I have tried doing everything provided in the troublehshooting section including: disabling all plug ins and extensions, turning off hardware acceleration, resetting to original settings, running antivirus and spyware apps (symantec, spybot, hitman pro and malwarebytes anti-malware). I'm running latest firefox and laptop is XP running SP3. Please help! I'm at wits end and have spent the last 24 hours of my life trying to resolve! the problem started I believe when some of my google searches were being redirected so thought it was a spyware/malware problem and ran all the apps above. It did remove whatever was found so hopefully the laptop is virus and spyware free.

Uninstall the Ask Toolbar via Tools | Add-ons | Extensions.
I notice also that you have Skype version 2.2.0.70 installed. According to the Mozilla Add-ons blocklist, all versions below 5.2.0.7165 will cause the type of problem you're experiencing. See https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/blocklist/
Also, update these:
- Java via http://www.java.com/en/
- Your graphics drivers via http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx

Thanks. I did what you've suggested above: uninstalled ask toolbar, updated Skype to current version, installed Java. Couldn't find my graphics driver. The driver is ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 and can't find the driver anywhere on AMD's site or anywhere else. It says something about using a legacy driver and went through the various suggested methods but didn't install any updated driver bc it didn't specifically ever say the update was for this driver so didn't take any chances. In any event the graphics and video on the computer seems fine and didn't want to add another problem if the video crashes. Anyway, still same problem. I'm still getting the crash screen when I exit firefox...Please help.
To eliminate malware as the culprit, please download the free version of Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free and then run a full system scan.
