Can I restore a local folder that has disappeared unexpectedly?
A folder in which I accumulated messages with links to webinars disappeared from the the Local Folders collection. I do not know why or how as I was not working with this folder. The file manager (with hidden files visible) shows nothing of this folder in .../.thunderbird/xu1iz8lo.default/Mail/Local Folders/ while other local email folders are visible.
I did not notice a crash by Thunderbird, but a component of KDE did crash and I rebooted yesterday.
Working mobile, the notebook has run out of battery and shut down suddenly twice in the last two days.

As you have a pop mail account those emails would be stored only on your computer unless you had the setting to 'Leave messages on the server'.
As they are only on the computer, usually, it is advised that you perform regular backups of the Profile folder. If you have a copy, you could copy paste the missing file back into: .../.thunderbird/xu1iz8lo.default/Mail/Local Folders
Make sure Thunderbird is closed prior to doing this.
If the emails are still on the server, you could get a complete redownload of everything on the server. To do this, you would need to delete the relevant mail account 'popstate.dat' file from the profile mail account. Thunderbird must be closed prior to doing this.

Thank you, T-H. I did recover the files from my backup. Which reminded me that I hadn't backed up as recently as I should have. Need to automate that with a chron job, eh?
