We have 1000 clients network and most of the clients having thunderbird installed (latest version) and configured , since last few months we started getting complaints that some of the local folders not showing their content mail in the system , we tried to repair folder does not work, we tried renaming .msf does not work.. when we see the some of the local folders mail they appear in the list but if you try to open it it opens blank and after trying troubleshooting steps thoes mails getting disappeared.. please assist..

Some emails with graphic links do not open the website in your browser. Instead, the cursor changes to a "zoom/unzoom" icon, and that's what it actually does, zooms and unzooms. I've found this with emails from different sources, both for .png and .jpg images. But those same emails when viewed in a web-based client, the graphic links work correctly as expected. What's up with Thunderbird? Platform: Win11 Home latest, Thunderbird 128.6.1esr (64-bit).

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64 bit) can obtain access to my Google Calendar and Contacts but not to email. This is a clean installation on a brand new Windows 11 computer. I have reinstalled Thunderbird three times, deleted saved passwords, deleted only the SMTP and IMAP saved passwords (preserving OAuth2 passwords), deleted Thunderbird's access in Gmail security settings to force it to re-request access, followed every instruction on every forum and help page I can find, but Thunderbird refuses to send and receive mail. Thunderbird finds the correct configuration and sets it up (correct ports, IMAP, SMTP, correct servers, OAuth2, etc.) I used my Gmail address and the same password as I use for webmail.

I am presently using Outlook for Gmail because it connected immediately using the same credentials as I am trying with Thunderbird. When I delete access permission in Gmail security settings, then add Gmail to Thunderbird again, it prompts for access to Contacts and Calendar but not to mail (one time it flashed a screen saying it could not because Java is not enabled in my web browser--but Java is enabled on both my default browser, Edge, and on Chrome; the page that came up appears to be some internal browser in Thunderbird).

The attached images show the configurations for IMAP server, the SMTP server, and that the saved passwords contain two OAuth2 URLs, one for contacts and the other for the calendar, but nothing for mail.

I have been using Thunderbird for years, and have a massive archive of emails in it, would really like to use it as my email client rather than Outlook. Installation and configuration has never been this difficult. Does anybody have any thoughts on what to do next?

When setting up Thunderbird, I did not see the radio tick box for removing mail from the server. What will happen now that I have removed about 10000 pieces of email from my local account on my computer's hard drive?

I have more questions, but would rather ask one at a time.

I am currently utilizing Thunderbird and require assistance in incorporating a digital signing of the message into the signature of my email. Presently, the software attaches the signed text as a file, along with an additional file for my public key. I would like to know how to integrate these elements as text at the conclusion of my message in the signature, rather than having them appear as attachments.

A specific email thread has disappeared from both my inbox and sent folders. I was in the process of writing a reply to the sender, my hand twitched (this happens from time to time) and I must have triggered TBird to glitch somehow. Next thing I know, the whole thread is gone. I can still access it by logging in to the organization's Outlook client directly.

I did a search for the email in TBird and the results indicate it can be found in both the Inbox and Sent folders (it's not), and it doesn't show up in the message list pane. I can access it by clicking on one of the search results, and I can reply to it from there. I have closed and restarted TBird with no change to this issue. This makes me wonder if my twitchy hand caused it to become "hidden" somehow.

Any ideas to help fix this would be appreciated!

I can drag and drop some existing email addresses from my address book into a new mailing group, but Firefox refuses to allow other email addresses to be dragged and dropped. It seems completely arbitrary as to which existing email accounts can be drag and dropped and which cannot. The online "HELP" instructions for this function are completely outdated, written for an earlier version of the software, and are no help at all. The whole process of creating a mailing group that has several (30-40 or more) existing email addresses in it is a giant task if one cannot drag and drop those into the group. It is as if whoever designed the mail group function did not expect anyone to set up anything but small groups. Please fix this function!! It's current usability is severely limited and a real pain to use.

Greetings My Thunderbird displays all of my emails in the top box. However, all of a sudden, even though the emails in the Inbox are displayed correctly in the top box, the content of the emails of 12/29/2008 thru 1/1/2025 are empty. They are empty both in the bottom box and when double-clicking the email. The emails prior to and following these dates display properly. The other folders seem to function properly. Hi, When I have to reply to mail in a conversation, Thunderbird is by default in conversation mode. I can't find any options to modify this. Some mails of the conversation are only visible by clicking on the last reply and does not appear in the inbox. 1st screen, mail from 17:51 does not appear, 2 screen yes. This seems to be a bug. I recently hat some issues with one of my accounts. At first some random mails disappeared right after receiving them, which made me question my sanity. Last week, I was able to witness a mail being recieved, appearing in search results, disappearing in the client and disappearing the mail from the server about a minute later.

While I was still wondering about this and looking for solutions (I tried the "Repair Folder" last week), I found no apparent changes, until yesterday, when about 9 months worth of emails turned into thin air. (Not in the inbox, not in the trash, not in the archive or on the server). Fortunately our IT department has backups and could also confirm my suspicion that the deletion was issued from Thunderbird.

I think there is a severe bug somewhere, but at the current moment I don't have the smallest clues to write a useful bugreport. Where would you start collecting evidence for this?

(Running Thunderbird, version=128.6.0, on Windows10, when this happened)

I've been using Thunderbird happily for some years. In the last week however, I can no longer send mail from some accounts. I have 3 accounts: one is Hotmail, two are with Ionos. All accounts receive fine, and one of the Ionos accounts sends fine, but the other Ionos account and the Hotmail one have stopped sending.

Spell check no longer working. Spell check no longer highlights spelling mistakes as I type and the spell check prior to sending the message no longer picks up any errors in the last couple of weeks

Nothing is working on Thunderbird after update this morning. Get Messages when clicked -nothing happens. Does not bring up login window. Window is not hidden. I can open write message, but again, no password window to send.

Restarted both Thunderbird and windows machine. Update history shows installed and successfully so. Cannot find a place to rollback update to test.

Since the last Thunderbird update (128.6.1esr) installed on 28 January 2025, I have a problem with messages status synchronization. When I mark a message as read, it becomes unread again, and vice-versa. I have the same problem in troubleshooting mode.

I tried several solutions but none of them worked: - compress and repair the inbox folder - move the messages to a local subfolder, delete the 'Inbox.msf' and 'Inbox' files, reopen Thunderbird and move the messages to the new empty Inbox folder - delete and recreate my whole account

Is this a common problem caused by the latest update?

maybe someone can help me with the following "problem". I'm using a lot of folders to keep my emails sorted with my projects. without my doing sometimes thunderbird chnges the color of a folder from yellow to pink and the folder can't be moved or deleted after this change. Also they can't be sorted. Is there a way to change these folders back to "normal" format. Pls see attached screenshot. Folder "Festivals 2025" System: Windows 10 Thunderbird: 128.6.1esr (64-Bit)

I have noticed that when I invite attendees to an existing event, the time is automatically changed to one hour earlier. My Thunderbird version is 128.1.0esr (64-bit).

I double click on Event > Edit > Invite attendees. When I click on Edit, the event time remains as it is. When I click on Invite Attendees on the new prompted screen, it is one hour off.

When opened TBird will not automatically load any incoming emails from Optus Webmail server .. and i cannot use the :Get mail" option in TBird ( no response) .. has been like it for few weeks. until today , i have not been able to write and send mail in TBird... it is doing that ok at moment , but not downloading any mail from Optus Webmail server . i can go to Webmail server via Google browser and see all the incoming emails waiting to be downloaded ,and i can read them and reply from Webmail server .. from Webserver i can also create new mail and send to recipients (all except TB which does not show any incoming mail ). so ,the Optus Webmail server is working ok , but TB will not connect to Webmail server .. when opened TB flashes a message "no Messages Found " . in conversation with Optus ,they claim many other users same problem, and they told me" Thunderbird has serious problems world wide and Thunderbird are trying to fix the TB software to get it to run properly". is what they say correct ? if you are not able to comment , i will have to assume TB does have problems .. HELP ... PLEASE ..

When copy - paste table with data from MS Excel onto the email body, the formatting is not proper (or as in outlook)

The receiver of my email can't copy the table from the body of email and use it on their Excel. instead they have to copy each values separately & paste it to excel.
