Firefox 6 will not contact router
When I type in my router default address: 192.168.1.1, I get a flash of 'contacting 192.168.1.1' in the bottom left of the window, but get nothing but a blank page. I've tried all the possibilities on the page 'Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can' - all to no avail. Internet explorer 6 loads the router interface without a problem. Any suggestions? I also have an unanswered question at: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/866552

What is your router? as somebody had a similar issue with his LINKSYS WRT120N and it did not display the internal router stuff in Firefox until he unchecked the "Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked" in Tools->Options->Privacy even though it should work fine with it checked.
I had a glimmer of hope there for a few minutes, but unchecking that didn't help. I don't even get the login page - I get nothing at all. I have a DLink DSL2704B modem/router. When I initially installed the router I used Firefox to set it up. I upgraded from Firefox 4 (I think it was 4...) to 6, and behold - no contact. I was cursing the router for a couple of weeks until I had a flash of inspiration (if you can call using IE inspiration) and tried IE and it works perfectly.
