Thunderbird has become almost impossible to use, due to Thunderbird frequently freezing and displaying "Not Responding" messages. I'm not sure whether I have unknowingly caused this problem.

Each time I start Thunderbird, a scrolling message at the bottom of the window shows emails being downloaded. It seems Thunderbird is downloading all emails (see graphic) from the server when most are already displayed in Thunderbird, and I only need the latest emails. I use imap. I'm unable to stop the emails downloading to verify if that is the cause of my problem or whether the downloads are a normal action.

Why are emails being downloaded and how do I stop them? When I delete an email, is it deleted from the Gmail server as I need to reduce space in Gmail. Thanks

Hi I have been using Thunderbird for many years, but lately a window comes up at start with "No New Messages" Then another window opens as normal with my messages, Also the menu bar is grey not blue like it used to be. I use Thunderbird 128.3.2.esr 64 bit

This has been going on since early October. Now the errors keep stacking up as I book new Open Table Reservations.

        I got the error message after I was asked to add to my calendar [I don't use google]. see attached
        Now when I log on to Thunderbird, I get message #1. If I dismiss it I get Message #3. If I click details in message #1, I get message #2, then I will get message #3 again when I try to clear. Also every 15 minutes after I log on to Thunderbird I get the little beep and another round of Message #1 and #3 dismiss starts all over again. It goes on for hours. 
         First I contacted Open table and they determined that it's not being caused by Open Table.

Then I found the error message #2147500037 on Thunderbird's platform so it's a thunderbird error.

         I have deleted Thunderbird and re-established it. It didn't help. I tried the calendar date reset, but that's not my system so didn't work.

Sometimes when I receive a new email to my Local Folders - Saved search with all inboxes, it shows (1) and plays a sound, but if I don't click another folder and back, the email screen won't show the email

In a probably related effect, if I check the trash which has a lot of emails and start clicking through them, they appear as another email until I click and the title changes

What kind of a graphical issue is this and how do I fix it? It doesn't happen always, but often. It happens even when I restart in troubleshoot mode

Why has thunderbird/comcast imap started to time out?

On our Windows computer Thunderbird has always had an issue where it would pop up a message saying "Could not connect to mail server imap.comcast.net, the connection was refused". A few hours or days would go by and Thunderbird and Comcast would talk to each other again. I finally had some time to try and debug this and (of course) I couldn't get the error to reproduce but instead I kept getting an imap timeout error. I captured the error message but it doesn't tell me why it's timing out or what to do about it.

P.S. Yes, I increased the timeout value from 100 to 300 and now it simply takes longer

My wife and I both use thunderbird latest release for our email. We both cannot get into the servers at spectrum email in tampabay (tampabay.rr.com) and (spectrum.net) We have used the connection information that tech support gives us at Spectrum in our Thunderbird program and it will not connect imap or smtp. They tell me port 993 for imap and 587 for smtp and to use mail.spectrum.com on both. This is a 3 week long problem and we really need help! I have even deleted my account and read countless help articles on the Mozilla support threads. When I try to use the autoconfigurator it tries the wrong smtp port 443 and mobil.spectrum.net as the servername. Please help!

Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded [SYS/TEMP] Server error. Please try again later". I have rechecked all my information several times. Seems to be accurate. I hate Yahoo and all their ads. Please help.
