Is this problem on a Windows 10 system? Your browser identified itself as Firefox 42 on Windows 8, but you mentioned Microsoft Edge, so... I'm just a little confused.

Try to modify these prefs on the about:config page.

  • full-screen-api.transition-duration.enter: "0 0"
  • full-screen-api.transition-duration.leave: "0 0"

Leave out the quotes around the value (enter only two zeros separated by a space).

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
