download helper does not have the arrow down anymore in the new 4.0 so I cannot download a video

I upgraded to Firefox 4.0 and do not like it . Can I go back to the old Firefox? Why, because my download helper does not work as there is no arrow to click on to download a video all there is are the headphones going around but no way to download anything. Looks like there is no room for the arrow.

Found this answer elsewhere in the Firefox pages.. Right click on the 3 ball icon - select Preferences -then General tab -then Behaviour -then change drop down menu to Open Menu

Worked for me..

Tried above but did not work. I actually had to instruct 'Download' in the dropdown menu. The arrow suddenly re-appeared and I was off running again!

Hi - I downloaded the above update (4.9.2) - but it made no difference - the arrow still was not present for me to download videos. However - I also followed the other post above that explained what to do - and that was to right-click of the 3-ball button and go to Preferences. Under General - open the Behaviour tab. In the bottom half of this page - aginst 'Extended download menu' - 'Upon clicking on the icon' open the dropdown menu and make sure you have 'Download' in there. I did this and the little download arrow immediately re-appeared and I was able to download videos again.

Hello: I want to thank Steve and all others that replied to my question/problem. I followed their instructions exactly but to no avail. I solved my problem by removing Download Helper and going back two updates and re-installing the older version... works great now. This is a problem betweenFirefox 4.0 and Download Helper. Frankly I think Download Helper needs to write new code and release an update that fixes this. Two of my friends removed it altogether and went to the Utube Downloader from CNET which works great but not as convenient.
