Mail servers generally do not respond + so I think your have settings that are simply incorrect. Perhaps your mail provider has recently changed them

So I suggest you try that server name. BTW the ports used have not been industry standard for decades. Unsecured connections also say 1990s.

Well good news and bad news............This morning my 91 messages from web based email were in my Thunderbird inbox.....hmm. So now ~ as I am just now getting to reading/responding to you kind sir, It isn't working again...same oh same oh. I will say that the teckie from Mediacom on Fri had me change ports #'s & put this mediacombb.net as my server address as well & not as my email address? Not that it matters it didn't work then. RE: the Security type: SSL off was giving me issues I think with a firewall or anti virus maybe when it was on along with the secure connections @ some point.....oh that was XP? Gosh I'm just not up to snuff/no memory. My question (s) from the rest of your response to me above are many: 1)That my Username will no longer be just "zonyjoni" in "name" in my server settings for account settings then? & my email address will then become zonyjoni@mediacombb.net, as that would suck to change that, but hey...I get that. Why are you storing things in the inbox? It was not meant to be used for long-term storage. Make a new folder and move old messages you want to keep into it.
