hyperlinks outside browser do not work

Hello, I downloaded the latest update for Win8.1 and now hyperlinks outside of the browser (including Thunderbird) don't work any more. They only work when IE is set as default, but when I set FF as default, nothing happens when I click a hyperlink. Please help.

At first try the following steps

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
