upgrade to v45, 2 things I dont know how to fix
Hello
fx has indeed upgraded to v45 by itself. I restored v41. So great. I have also made sure all my addons are up to date. I use CTR.
Now I noticed 2 things new, that I would like to go back to what I had.
1) I use to be able to double click in the space (grey) after the last pinned tab, and a new tab would be created. how do I get this back?
2) The Location bar now has this color thing going on... and words.. My URL use to be very simple and clean
e.g. big green color and tells me who e.g. Mozilla Foundation (US). please see screenshot
e.g. big orange words Firefox rather than just the icon please see screenshot
I would like the simple and no colors please. Simple and less distracting is best.
Why with upgrades does Fx add all these changes rather than let me turn on the new ones? It makes me fear upgrading. As things change and I want it hte same until I am in exploring mode.
Thankyou

I don't know about how to get #1 back. Can you click the "+" button as a workaround?
On #2, first screen shot, it is not normal (not a built-in feature) to have a green background on the site identity button in Firefox 45. Probably one of your extensions is doing that. On the second screen shot, some internal pages have that icon (for example, about:home and about:addons). Normal websites should follow the pattern in the following article: Site Information panel.
Thankyou jscher2000
1) I really loved clicking the space and getting a new tab. I really would like this back. So nope, + doesnt do trick for me. I have a + Tab icon as temporary but it is far more clunky than just double clicking the space.
2) ok found in CTR the color background thing. New setting in upgrade. Now its just green words for Mozilla Foundation (US) Orange words for Firefox
Before I did not have any of these words. The article explains the settings. I have no issue with my settings, I just do not need to see the words. I had these settings before and no words. So it must be something else.
Thankyou for trying to help me, so fast! much appreciated.
I think the built-in home page had the orange fox + Firefox for quite a while because there were some complaints when it was added, maybe in 2014 around the time Firefox 29 was released. If you never noticed that before on that page, one of your extensions may have been modifying that area.
I don't think it was on the about:addons or about:config pages before, but I don't pay close attention to that area on internal pages, so it seems to be spreading.
