Thunderbird 58 beta 2 frequently "not responding" in Windows 10

Anytime a new email comes to Inbox Thunderbird Locks up and shows "Not Responding". It remains locked for about a minute for each email. If there are 5 emails that refresh at the same time, it doesn't respond for around 5 minutes and is very frustrating. This has been going on ever since I've had Thunderbird on this PC.
