Foxfire flies from website to website but links open very very slowly from my e-mail program. Why the difference?

Which part fixed the problem?

Was it places.sqlite?

In that case there may have been a problem with the history.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).


A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

That fixed the problem, thanks. How do I keep it that way? The links in my e-mail aren't bookmarked so I don't see the relevance in the problem resolution you sent me.

Just opening in safe mode fixed the problem. I didn't do anything else. But now when I click on a link someone sent me through my Outlook mail, the site opens instantly. Previously, it took over two minutes for the site to open.

Opened Foxfire this morning without invoking 'safe mode' and I was able to access sites from my e-mail with no delay. I don't know why just opening in safe mode once would solve the problem but it seems it has. Thanks much for the suggestion.
