Why don't you just use your original search bar/engine (instead of AVG)???
I do not enjoy trying to install (OR) use your search engine anymore and will continue to use EI anyday of the year until you go back to using your original search engine/bar. I (HATE) the HELL out of AVG 'Secure' Search. They are a PUP(Potentially (UNWANTED) Program of which I (DO NOT) want. WHY DO YOU TRY TO 'REINVENT THE WHEEL'???? Like the old saying goes, 'if it works, (DON'T) fix it. You have caused me a (BIG) headache and I'm (SURE) many others have given up on your browser and gone over to Opera, IE, or Google Chrome. Try to email me back with some response that is logical and try not to argue in defense of your actions to use this (CRAPPY) search bar/engine called AVG 'Secure Search'. No matter if you (do) try to justify it's use, it (DOES) not work as smoothly as your original bar. REMEMBER, they (ARE) considered a PUP program which is basically as invasive and insidious as a virus. If you don't believe me, I (DARE) you to do a (little) research and (SEE) for yourself just how many (LIKE MYSELF) are flat out (DISCUSTED and DISSATISFIED) as I am with your decision to go with AVG. WHY would you go with a (FOREIGN-BASED) company operating out of freakin' Hungary for anyways? SHAME on you. You pride yourself as being an AMERICAN company, than ACT LIKE IT. Don't be a sell-out.......Sincerely, One VERY dissatisfied (EX) client/customer........

Mozilla is not affiliated with AVG, and we do not use or recommend them as the default Firefox search engine. I'd suggest following the steps at Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page to see how to remove it and use the search engine you want to use.
as said the Firefox web browser from www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all for Windows, Mac OSX or Linux has never came with a AVG search engine as one of the defaults in Search Bar.
Just because you see it in Firefox does not mean Firefox came with it. It was likely installed by something else like AVG or another program install or update inserted it before you saw it.
