I have been using firefox since very long but 2 days ago i somewhere read about saving videos of youtube from the Firefox Cache. But i coudnot locate the cache so i tried to change the parent directory of cahce by going to url " about:config " , and there i first made an entry of browser.cache.disk.parentdirectory " and as it's value, gave a directory in the same folder of my firefox profile, named Cache . Then i tried to delete it but i couldnot as there was no option, so just deleted it's value . Then i downloaded a small standalone app to browse the firefox cache, in that i deleted some cache files which i had seen long time back in browser and there wasn't any need of them there taking space , after that i CLOSED Firefox and SINCE THEN if i Try to open firefox then the Windows Explorer gets FROZEN and NO exe file of firefox opens and cause same Freezing if clicked . I DELETED Everything of mozilla even from Registry and tried RE-INSTALLING Firefox but then also installation hangs at 10% bar and then Wnidows Explorer Freezes . After freezing windows don't shut down also, i have to forcibly turn off using Power Switch . Please HELP me how to recover from this problem . Firefox is my FAVOURITE browser and i want to install it again .

It could be you damaged or corrupted Firefox. Instruction to follow.

As far as saving videos, FF can download most of the time on its own. There are also extensions called add-ons that can give FF super powers (or at least give it more options).

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Uninstall Firefox from your computer {web link}

Download Firefox Full Installer All languages {web link}

PLEASE READ the Question properly before answering or coming to a conclusion , i had to write almost same things as the Main queston . Ok, I am myself an advnced user , i know about the add ons and have a lot of them already installed in my laptop. To download a video from youtube which you have watched using add on means Double data transfer, i wanted to save the already downloaded(played) video from the firefox cache . I have ALREADY MENTIONED that NO .exe file related to mozilla is Executing which obviously means that even the UNINSTALLER'S .exe file is not opening and if clicked it HANGS the Windows Explorer itself and i have to forcibly shut down my laptop using Power button . So I have Deleted everything of mozilla including Registry entries . Now when i try INSTALLING a NEW COPY of Firefox then installation HANGS AT 10% bar and remain there even after 5 minutes and then Wnidows Explorer Freezes . IF this was a SIMPLE MATTER OF UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING firefox then i WOULDN'T BE asking question here . PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE PROBLEM if it was i would have solved it myself. Thank you for your feedback.
